'Unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you shall not have life within you for my flesh is real food and my blood real drink'.
I remember the woman who was bleeding internally for years who thought 'If I but touch the hem of His cloak I will be healed.' And she did ... and she was. How much more, then, should we who receive his Body and Blood be healed. We do more than touch the hem of His cloak. We receive the entire Body of The Lord. Jesus is really, truly, and substantially present in the Blessed Sacrament.
Our prayer for our children who are about to receive Him for the first time is that they will be truly healed, that their eyes will be opened, and that they will come to know that their most important reception of Holy Communion is the next one.
